Introducing the All-New V60

Volvo has always been known for its practicality, but in recent years has also made a name for itself with sleek designs. The new V60 wagon merges these two fundamentals and is destined to continue making a statement.

Popular across Europe, the V60 remains a niche vehicle in North America. It’s built on similar underpinnings as the V90, S90, and XC90.

Volvo confirmed that the V60 will boast a 250-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo-4 cylinder engine in the base model, while a 316-horsepower turbocharged and supercharged inline-4 powers the T6. Plug-in powertrains weren’t initially confirmed for the U.S. and an 8-speed automatic is the only available transmission.

The interior is roomy with nearly 30 cubic feet of cargo space. It also comes equipped with active safety technology. In a statement at its release Volvo said that it had upgraded its Pilot Assist driver assistance system for “improved corning.” The system supports steering, braking, and accelerating inputs at speeds up to 80 miles per hour. The City Safety automatic braking system now also tries to mitigate oncoming collisions.

We can expect the V60 to arrive later this year with a V60 Cross Country wagon following suit as well. The V60 Wagon will be offered as part of Volvo’s “Care by Volvo” subscription plan. You can read more about that on a previous blog here.
