Principle Auto Group joins the campaign to bring awareness to Breast Cancer Awareness Month in San Antonio. More than 220,000 women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer each year, but thanks to generous donations, continued research, better screenings, and early detection, breast cancer death rates have been declining.

IIHS Awards 2018 Volvo XC60 Top Safety Pick+

It’s no surprise that Volvo just added another model to its already long lineup of safe vehicles: the newly redesigned 2018 XC60.

The Top Safety Pick+ is the highest honor given by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and it’s issued when the vehicle tested scores the highest rating (which is classified as “Good”) in all five crash test evaluations, including small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints and seats, as well as an “Advanced” or “Superior” rating for front crash prevention and an “Acceptable” or “Good” rating for the headlights evaluation.

Volvo Acquires Luxe to Provide Concierge Service

Last month, U.S. based premium valet and concierge service, Luxe, was acquired by Volvo. This digital car app aims to offer customer experiences, such as pick-up and drop-off services, providing a new level of convenience for Volvo owners. In addition to acquiring the app, Volvo also gained Luxe’s technology and engineers as well. Luxe’s CEO and co-founder Curtis Lee is becoming VP of digital for Volvo Cars.

2021 XC90 Production to Take Place at S. Carolina Plant

Volvo’s newest plant in South Carolina is still under construction, but the next-generation XC90 SUV is slated to be built on its premises once building is completed.

Volvo’s total investment in the construction has reached $1.1 billion. They were initially building a $500 million assembly plant near Charleston, schedule to open next fall and produce the S60, a sedan currently being built in China. When production in China is phased out in 2019, the United States will become the only global source of the S60 sedan.

Volvo’s 2018 XC40 is third model to enter Volvo’s SUV trilogy and was unveiled in Milan today, to follow its XC90 and XC60 brothers.
